Search for Specials

How do I find specials?
In the home page select a city from the <location> dropdown menu, and then click on a category to display a list of available specials.

View advertisement details
Click on the ad title to expand and view the advertisement's full content. A thumbnail image can be enlarged simply by clicking on the picture. Click again and the image returns to its original thumbnail size. To get the address and/or directions click on the map link.

Can anyone register?
Registration is meant for any person or company that owns a business and wants to promote it. If you wish to register click [here]

What are you doing with my information?
We collect and post your company's information so you can promote your business online. Your privacy is our priority and we will not share or sell your personal information.

You have the option to hide your business address if you choose not to advertise it. (see question What is the purpose of the Hide My Address checkbox?).

What information do I need to register?
The following is a list of minimal registration requirements:

What is an account activation key?
In order to access you're newly created account it needs to be activated first. Once you have completed the registration process, an activation key instruction will be sent to the email you provided us with.

My Account

I forgot my password/user name, how do I retrieve them?
In order to recover your password and username click [here]. Enter your registered email and press submit button. Your password and user name will be sent to your email.

How do I edit my account information?
You will need to login to your account and go to My Account Information. When done click on Apply Change button.

What is the purpose of the Hide My Address checkbox?
Allows members to show or hide their business street address from their posted ad specials.

What will I find in my account?
Your account includes the following:

My Specials ‐ a table with list of your ad history:

Title
Start and Expiry Date/Time
Status ‐ running, pending, expired, rejected.
Edit ‐ modify existing ad.
Renew ‐ repost an expired or deactivated ad.

Change my password.
Once you are logged in to your account go to Account Information and click on Change Password where you will be required to verify your current password first. Type your new password and press Submit button.

Deactivate my account.
Once you are logged in to your account go to Account Information and click on Deactivate Account where you will be required to verify your current password then press Deactivate button.

Advertise

How do I place an ad?
First, login to your account and click on Place New Special or click [here]. You will then need to fill in the ad form with the following:

Title ‐ i.e. 25% off all womens' winter shoes.
Detail ‐ describe more information about the ad.
URL ‐ if your ad or coupon is also posted elsewhere provide a link.
Business Category ‐ select an appropriate category name for your ad. This will place your ad in a searchable category list found on the home page.
Posting Duration ‐ The length of time you will have your ad posted on Specials Nearby measured in weekly intervals.
Sale Start Date ‐ The date your sales or promotions commence.
Sale End Date ‐ The date your sales or promotions end.
Graphic Image ‐ Include a file image (i.e. your ad, business description or coupon). To select a file from a folder click on Browse. (Accepted file formats: jpeg, jpg, gif, png. Max file size: 500 kb.)
Click Submit button to save your ad.

* Please note that the Posting Start Date and the Sale Start Date do not have to be the same date.

What information will be displayed on my ad?

Title
Detail
Related Graphic Image (i.e. your ad, business description or coupon if applicable)
Street Address (if you permitted it)
City
Business Phone
Your Business Website Link
Ad URL Link (if available)
Promotion/Sale Start and End Dates

How can I tell the status of my ad?
Once logged on go to My Specials and view the <Status> column:

Running ‐ available for view on home page
Pending ‐ will be posted at a later date
Stopped ‐ cancelled by member
Rejected ‐ not approved by Specials Nearby

How can I cancel my ad?
Once logged on go to My Specials and click on Edit where required. In your ad form select Deactivate then press Update button.

Can I delete my ad?
Once logged on go to My Specials and click on Delete where required.

I need to modify my ad.
You will need to login to your account and go to My Specials. Click edit on the row that describes the ad to be changed. Once you have completed editing click on Update button.

I would like to renew my ad.
Expired or cancelled ads can easily be renewed. Once logged on go to My Specials and click on Renew where required. If the ad is expired a renew form will be displayed otherwise the ad will just resume running.

I am having trouble placing an ad, who should I contact?

Is the content of my ad monitored?
All advertisements will be monitored for appropriate content and must meet our requirements. Ads that do not meet or comply with our policy will not be accepted and if need be, removed. For additional information view our

Top Ads

What are Top Ads?
Top Ads are advertisements located at the top section of the first page for every category.

What is the advantage of posting a Top Ad?
Top ads are exposed to more visitor traffic and can aid in generating more sales, faster, for your business. Additionally, your ad will also appear in the regular ad section according to its category.

How do I place a Top Ad?
When placing an ad in your account click the check box titled Top Ad located at the bottom of the Promote My Ad section.

Why is my Top Ad not visible at the top section?
Each category section on the home page allows up to 5 ads to be visible at one time. A rotational system guarantees that all Top Ads are displayed and available to consumers.
